This piece of fiction is the first draft of a novel written in conjuction with NaNoWriMo. There has been no editing done on this piece whatsoever. Every weekend, I will post whatever has been written up to that point. It is best to assume that the second draft will probably be a substantial improvement.

A note on copyright:
The U.S. Copyright Office does not require registration to enforce legal protection of "original works of authorship" that are fixed in a tangible form of expression (ie, written down, baby) which applies to unfinished work. The lack of notice does not waive my rights, but consider this notice in any case.

I signed up to participate in NaNoWriMo which stands for National Novel Writing Month. The idea is to produce a 175 page novel (approximately 50,000 words) during the month of November (30 days ~ 2,000 words/day).

The goal is get the words on paper and not focus (to the extent of inhibiting your production) on quality. It requires that you start from scratch on November 1 and crank through without expectations (except to finish) and so I'm told, some of it will be total crap. Some portion of the novel will be published on SmartReMarx.com, although I haven't figured out the particulars yet.
